Our first class of the summer is gonna be a good one. On July 26, I'll be teaching a group of lovely DIY seekers how to refurbish an ottoman!
Don't you just love ottomans? They're cute, add lots of style to any room, and great for everyday life - whether you use them to prop your feet up, or as a small side table. Everyone could have good use for an ottoman.
But what if you don't know what you could use your ottoman for? I'm going to share 5 ways to use an ottoman.
A foot stool
I think ottomans are most recognized for their ability to be an excellent prop to support your legs and feet. Whether your ottoman is small, round, large, or even long, a great ottoman can always be used to prop your feet after a long day. This is especially helpful if you don't have an L-shaped couch with a built in chaise.
Side Table or Cocktail Ottoman
Open your mind to the wonderful possibilities of the ottoman! Yes, you caaannn use it as a side table or as some call them, a cocktail ottoman. Cooking a light meal or serving a few drinks for a couple of friends? Well why not whip out the ottoman, and use it as your beautiful table support.
Not all ottomans are made equal - and that's a good thing! You may need an ottoman that is multi-functional. Let's say you're a busy pet parent like myself and you need someplace to store all of your dog's toys before company comes over? Yep, you guessed... in the ottoman. Bam! Now we have an extra seat, and all of Charlotte's toys are stored away.
An extra seat
Speaking of an extra seat and having company over. You might not need multiple chairs and couches in your living room. Hell, you may not even have the room for that much furniture. But an ottoman can be your furniture superhero. Nice and quaint, because they come in all shapes and sizes, you can find or create an ottoman that fits perfectly in your space and matches nicely when company isn't over.
Added accessory for your room
Are you simply obsessed with ottomans? I mean, how could you not be? If your room is missing something, that one thing, that one darn thing that you can never put your finger on... It might just be an ottoman. If you refurbish your own ottoman, you get the chance and choosing any fabric you desire, ensuring it's the perfect piece to complete your room. And if need be, you can always use it for any of the purposes above.
Ottomans come in many different shapes and sizes. And they can have many different uses as well. One of the things I love about ottomans is that they are truly a versatile piece of furniture. I can use my ottomans in more ways than one - and that's great while I do home renovations and could easily change my mind on how I want to use a piece of furniture.
